RULES OF “BIEGI W SZCZAWNICY” 2022

 

1. Goals of the event:

  • popularization of sport and sports activity;
  • popularization of mountain running as a form of sports activity;
  • selecting the best participants in mountain runs;
  • promotion of the tourist region of Pieniny, Beskid Sądecki, the city of Szczawnica and Partner cities in Poland and in the world;
  • promoting environmental awareness;
  • promoting safe running in the mountains.

Biegi w Szczawnicy will take place on April 23, 2022 roku in Szczawnica, Poland.

 

5. Rules of participation

  • Every adult participant may take part in the competition: he will apply for the race using the application form, pay the entry fee and sign the declaration of the race at his own risk.
  • The competition is also open to participants aged 16-17, who are required to have a consent to participate in the competition from their parents or legal guardians, with their signature and ID number.The condition for allowing them to start is the presence of a parent or guardian with an ID card at the time of verification of the participant in the competition office.

7. Technical guidebook

  • Prior to the competition, a technical guide will be issued with detailed information on each race.
  • The technical message will be sent to all enrolled participants, to the e-mail address provided by them in the registration form, and also posted on the competition website no later than 10 days before the race.

 

8. Registration

  • Applications may be submitted electronically at www.zapisy.strefaprzygod.pl.
  • To sign up for a selected race, create a participant’s account, log in and choose a specific course by clicking “sign up” and filling in additional data (eg. type of meal).
  • At each run, after reaching the limit of places, registration will be automatically opened for the waiting list, limited to 50 places for a given race.
  • Start lists are verified in accordance with the payment deadlines in a given race.
  • In the event of a transfer from the waiting list to the main list, the competitor will be informed by e-mail to the e-mail address provided during registration.

 

Niepokorny Mnich

  • Registration runs from November 2, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (480 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 20 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

Dziki Groń

  • Registration runs from November 9, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (480 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 20 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

Wielka Prehyba

  • Registration runs from November 16, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (950 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 50 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

Żwawe Wierchy

  • Registration runs from November 23, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (480 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 20 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

Chyża Durbaszka

  • Registration runs from November 30, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (950 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 50 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

Hardy Rolling

  • Registration runs from December 7, 2021 (from 8 pm) until the limit of places is reached (480 people) or until March 21, 2022.
  • The entry fee must be paid within 5 days from registration.In the absence of payment, the application will be moved to the waiting list.
  • The organizer has an additional pool of 20 places for elite participants, sponsors and partners.

 

9. Benefits

As part of the packages, competition participants are provided with:

  • accident insurance;
  • buffets along the route according to the information provided on the competition website.Detailed information on the products of the buffets will be included in the technical guidebook no later than 10 days before the start of the competition;
  • buffet at the finish line;
  • starting number with a chip;
  • a map with the route of the race;
  • technical guidebook containing the most important information about the event;
  • 30-liter bag for deposit at the finish line;
  • 30-liter bag for transition area in the case of a Niepokorny Mnich;
  • electronic time measurement;
  • souvenir medals for finishers;
  • awards and statuettes for the best competitors on each course;
  • medical protection and mountain rescue service;
  • in the case of the Chyża Durbaszka and Hardy Rolling courses, transport to the start of the competition (from Szczawnica to Jaworki);
  • route marking.

  • 220 PLN paid from January 1, 2022 to February 28, 2022
  • 240 PLN paid from March 1, 2022 to March 21, 2022

Wielka Prehyba:

  • 180 PLN paid by December 31, 2021
  • 200 PLN paid from January 1, 2022 to February 28, 2022
  • 220 PLN paid from March 1, 2022 to March 21, 2022

Żwawe Wierchy:

  • 160 PLN paid by December 31, 2021
  • 180 PLN paid from January 1, 2022 to February 28, 2022

Chyża Durbaszka:

  • After registering the application, the participant’s data will be automatically published on the start list on the event website.
  • Only full application and payment of the entry fee to the account specified in these regulations and on the website of the competition are counted.Confirmation of registration is the appearance of the competitor on the start list on the competition website, as well as a message sent to the e-mail address provided during registration.
  • The entry fee is not valid if the participant is not registered electronically, if it was made after the deadline or if it is paid after the limit of places has been reached.
  • Participants born in 1957 or earlier are granted a 50% discount in the starting fee.

 

11. Refunds of the starting fee and/or handing the package over to another person

The refund of the starting fee is possible upon an early resignation from the start and effective notification of the Organizers under the following conditions:

  • in case of resignation from the start by January 31, 2022, the amount of the entry fee will be refunded after the handling fee of PLN 5 is deducted,
  • in the event of resignation from the start between February 1 and February 28, 2022, 50% of the fee paid will be refunded,
  • resignation after February 28, 2022, during the race or failure to appear at the start of the competition does not entitle to a refund of the entry fee,
  • until April 10, 2022, the participant may transfer his entry fee to another person (the person to whom the package is transferred should register in the registration system, while the person who resigns the package should send the data of both participants (names, surnames, e-mail addresses) and the distance to which the application relates to the following address: recepcja@biegiwszczawnicy.pl),
  • transferring the package to another person is free of charge, and when the package is transferred, it is also possible to change the distance – see point 12,
  • The organizer does not refund the entry fee to people who have not completed the competition or did not take part in the competition, and does not transfer the entry fee to other / subsequent competitions.

 

12. Changing the course

  • The organizer allows the possibility of changing the distance previously declared by the participant.Each time such a decision is made by the Organizer individually and depending on the availability of packages for a given distance.
  • In case of changing to a longer distance, the participant should pay the difference in entry fee between the distances (the difference is calculated on the basis of the date of the original payment).
  • In case of changing to a shorter distance, the Organizer will refund the difference in the entry fee according to the refund schedule:
    • until January 31, 2022, the difference in entry fee between the distances will be refunded after the handling fee of PLN 5 is deducted,
    • from February 1 to February 28, 2022, 50% of the difference in entry fee between distances will be refunded,
    • reporting a change after February 28, 2022 does not entitle to a refund of the difference in entry fee between the distances.

 

13. Collection of the package

  • All participants taking part in the race must be verified at the Competition Office.
  • Verification at the Competition Office can be made:
  1. a) in person – based on a photo ID
  2. b) by an authorized person – on the basis of a starting card signed by the participant (downloadable from the website) and a photocopy of the participant’s identity document.
  • At the Competition Office, participants receive starter packages, including, among others: bib number, time measurement chip, safety pins, map with marked courses, guidebook.
  • The starting packages not collected at the Competition Office will not be sent or issued at a later date.

 

14. Course

  • With the exception of short fragments, most of the routes have been led along mountain hiking trails.
  • The route, in addition to the trail markings, will be additionally marked by the Organizer.Details of marking will be provided in the information guidebook made available before the competition and added to the starter packages.
  • The detailed and final course of the route will be published on the competition website, as well as in the form of a map that each participant will receive at the competition office.

 

15. Rules on the trail

  • During the entire competition, you should only move along the route indicated by the Organizer.
  • Organized help from third parties (support) is allowed in the zones of refreshment points.Any organized assistance during the competitions on the route outside the designated zones is not allowed.Competitors using an organized support outside the checkpoints will be punished with disqualification.
  • The organizer allows the help of third parties in cases where it is a spontaneous help or a gesture of hospitality of the inhabitants of the towns through which the race runs, as well as people met on the trail.

 

16. Bib numbers and time measurement

  • Each participant will receive a bib number and a chip at the Competition Office.
  • Throughout the competition, participants are required to have the bib number placed in the front, in a place visible to the judges, and a chip attached to the shoe – a different placement of the chip does not guarantee correct reading by the measuring system, which may lead to disqualification or incorrect time measurement of the participant.

 

17. Time limits

There are time limits on each course, exceeding which will result in disqualification of the participant;

Time limits for each course:

  • Hardy Rolling: 3 hours.
  • Chyża Durbaszka: 5 hours.
  • Żwawe Wierchy: 8 hours.
  • Wielka Prehyba: 9 hours.
  • Dziki Groń: 14 hours.
  • Niepokorny Mnich: 18 hours.

 

On the Dziki Groń course, intermediate limits have been established, exceeding which will result in disqualification of the participant.

  • Obidza Mountain Hut – 10 h (h. 4 pm)
  • Durbaszka Shelter – 12 h 30 min (h. 6:30 pm)

 

On the Niepokorny Mnich course, intermediate limits have been established, exceeding which will result in disqualification of the participant.

  • Obidza Mountain Hut – 14 h (h. 4 pm)
  • Durbaszka Shelter – 16 h 30 min (h. 6:30 pm)

After the time limit, the participant is not classified and does not take part in the rest of the race.It is also not possible to continue the race without the starting number, on the so-called”Own responsibility” or “out of classification”.

 

18. Refreshment points and food management

  • There will be refreshment points along the route.The exact list of points is available on the website: www.biegiwszczawnicy.pl in the Courses tab .
  • Participants will be able to take advantage of the buffets available there at the check points.
  • In addition to the nutritional points, participants may use the shelters on their own.

 

19. Environmental protection

  • Any activities that may affect the beauty of the natural areas through which the courses run are forbidden, especially: abandoning rubbish, destroying vegetation, disturbing the silence in the vicinity of the reserves, burning fires, etc.
  • All rubbish should be left at the checkpoints or carried to the finish line.
  • Participants who break the applicable environmental protection rules during the event will be disqualified.
  • Due to the route running through the reserve, it is forbidden to run with a dog.

 

20. Safety

  • It is forbidden to leave valuables (phones, documents) in deposits.
  • The organizer draws the participants’ attention to the multitude of dangers and threats resulting from participation in a sports event, related to high physical effort, which may include, among others, at the risk of loss of life and health. The organizer recommends carrying out appropriate medical examinations or medical consultations, depending on the age and physical condition of the participant, before the preparations for the runs and during the preparations.
  • The organizer is insured against civil liability towards participants of the races.
  • The organizer provides participants with accident insurance.
  • The organizer does not provide any life, health or civil liability insurance for illness, accident, injury, death or any loss or damage that may occur in connection with the presence or participation in the races.
  • The condition for participation in the race is the authorization of the medical and paramedical personnel employed on behalf of the Organizer to provide first aid or perform other medical procedures, as well as transport the injured participant to a safe place.
  • Medical services or the Organizer of the competition may prohibit the participant from continuing the race if there is a suspicion of a poor health condition that threatens the participant’s life or health.
  • By accepting these Regulations, the participant confirms that participation in the races involves physical effort and entails a natural risk and risk of accidents, the possibility of bodily injuries and physical injuries (including death). Providing the Organizer with a correctly completed registration form and paying the registration fee means that the participant has considered and assessed the nature, scope and degree of risk related to participation in the races and has voluntarily decided to take this risk, starting in the races solely at his own risk.
  • The condition for participation in the race is to have an appropriate and up-to-date medical examination allowing to start in the selected race or signing a statement in the race office regarding the participant’s health condition and no contraindications to participate in the race.
  • The GOPR Podhale Group will watch over the safety of participants on the competition routes.

 

21. Withdrawal from the race

  • If a participant withdraws from the race during the competition, he is obliged to immediately inform the Organizer by telephone on the telephone number indicated on the participant’s bib number.
  • If the participant withdraws from the race at the nutrition point, he or she should inform the representatives of the Organizer who are at the point.If possible, the organizer will provide transport to the finish line for participants resigning at the refreshment points.
  • If the participant withdraws from the race beyond the refreshment point, he is obliged to immediately inform the Organizer about it.The organizer, as far as possible logistical, will provide transport to the finish line for participants resigning beyond the nutrition points.
  • Persons who do not report their withdrawal immediately to the Organizer may be charged with the costs of an unjustified search and rescue action.

 

22. Equipment

  • During the entire competition, each participant is required to have the obligatory equipment indicated for the route on which he or she is competing (point 23).
  • The equipment can be checked by the Organizer both before the start and at the finish line.
  • Lack of the necessary equipment will result in a time penalty for the participant.The amount of the time penalty is 15 minutes for each missing piece of equipment.The time penalty will be added to the time the participant obtained at the finish line.

 

23. Mandatory equipment

  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.25 liters.

 

Chyża Durbaszka:

  • bib number (placed on the top in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip;
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming enabled recommended),
  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.25 liters.

 

Żwawe Wierchy

  • bib number (placed on the top in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip;
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming enabled recommended),
  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liters,
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil.

 

Wielka Prehyba:

  • bib number (placed on the top in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip;
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming enabled recommended),
  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liters,
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil.

 

Dziki Groń:

  • bib number (placed on the top in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip;
  • backpack or running belt,
  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liters,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming enabled recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil.

 

Niepokorny Mnich:

  • bib number (placed on the top in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip;
  • backpack or running belt,
  • a water container to be used on the route and at refreshment points (a cup or a water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liters,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming enabled recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil,
  • headlamp or other lamp.

 

* For the sake of the natural environment, we do not provide plastic cups at the nutritional points.

 

Recommended equipment:

  • a headlamp or a torch for participants of the Dziki Groń course,
  • clothing appropriate to the current weather,
  • a rain jacket (regardless of the expected weather),
  • personal first aid kit.

 

24. Deposit and transition area

  • A deposit can be prepared on all routes, awaiting the participant at the finish line. The bags for deposits will be delivered together with the package at the race office. Additionally, on the Niepokorny Mnich course, participants can prepare a deposit, which they will be able to use on the route of the competition (Rytro, 54 km). All information on deposits, their marking and transfer will be published on the competition website and in the technical guidebook.
  • The participants of Hardy Rolling and Chyża Durbaszka can deposit their deposit bag just before the start in Jaworki – it will be transported to the finish line to Szczawnica.
  • The participants of the Niepokorny Mnich may deposit the bag for the refreshment point on the route just before the start. After the race starts, the bags will be transported to the check point in Rytro.
  • After the run, deposits can be picked up in a designated place at the finish line.
  • The deposit is released only upon presentation of the bib number.
  • Items unclaimed by participants during the event will be transferred to the appropriate lost property office.

 

25. Competition and prizes

  • All races are a sports competition.
  • The fastest ladies and gentlemen on each course will be awarded.
  • During the event, the following classifications will be conducted: general classification, general women / men classifications.
  • The organizer reserves the right to introduce additional classifications.
  • The classification is based on electronic time measurement. There will be control mats on the route of the run that will record the appearance of the participant at a given point. Failure to read at a given point may disqualify the participant.
  • The general classification is based on gross times, counted from the start of the race.
  • In the final results of the race, each participant receives information about the gross time.
  • Unofficial results of the race will be posted on the website www.biegiwszczawnicy.pl immediately after the race.
  • Written protests about the results are accepted until April 25, 2022, at 6.00 p.m. to the e-mail address zapisy@biegiwszczawnicy.pl. Protests will be considered within 48 hours and the final and official results will be published no later than April 28, 2022.
  • All participants who complete the race receive souvenir medals at the finish line.
  • The winners of places I – III in the general classification of women and men will receive souvenir statuettes and prizes. The organizer reserves the right to fund additional cash and material prizes in selected categories and classifications.

 

26. Image protection and personal data

  • The condition for participation in the races is signing at the competition office an appropriate statement regarding consent to the free use of the participant’s image and a statement regarding the processing of the participant’s personal data.
  • The condition for participation in the race is also the consent to the processing of the participant’s personal data provided in the application form by the personal data administrator within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act of May 10, 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), which is the Strefa Przygód Foundation with its registered office at Staw II 12/17, 62-420 Strzałkowo, for the purpose and to the extent necessary for the implementation of a sports event, including the publication of participant’s data on starting lists and lists from results and sending the result of the participant to the telephone number provided during registration.
  • The participant has the right to request access to data, rectification, deletion or limitation of processing and to object to processing, as well as the right to transfer data. Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary and necessary to participate in a sports event.
  • Participant’s data may be transferred to entities cooperating in the implementation of the event and related actions, on the basis of appropriate entrustment agreements.
  • Personal data will be kept for the period necessary to implement the event, details of storage of specific data are specified in the Privacy Policy.
  • The participant has the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office when he considers that the processing of personal data concerning the participant violates the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 or the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018
  • The administrator may process personal data in connection with the organization of the Biegi w Szczawnicy event also in cooperation with other people, eg volunteers, who carry out activities related to the organization and course of the event. Details regarding the protection of the participant’s personal data are set out in the Privacy Policy.

 

27. Invoices

  • Persons who want to receive an invoice for the paid entry fee should send the required data needed to issue the document by e-mail to the following address: zapisy@biegiwszczawnicy.pl.
  • In accordance with applicable regulations, the invoice for the paid entry fee may be issued by the 15th day of the month following the month in which the payment was made.
  • In accordance with tax regulations, due to the payment made before the service is provided, an advance invoice will be issued for the full amount of the fee paid.Thus, the advance invoice is also the final invoice.
  • By accepting the Regulations, the participant agrees to send / share invoices without the recipient’s signature, in electronic form.This consent does not exclude the Organizer’s right to issue and send invoices in paper form.

 

28. Protests

  • The organizer accepts official protests regarding violation of the competition rules on of the competition – April 23, 2022 until 20:00.Protests submitted after this date will not be considered.
  • Protests may be submitted by e-mail to the following address: biuro@biegiwszczawnicy.pl or in person at the competition office located at the finish line.
  • The organizer examines protests as soon as possible, maximum within 48 hours.
  • Any complaints, comments and requests regarding matters related to participation in the event may be submitted within 14 days from the date of its completion, in particular to the Organiser’s e-mail address or in writing to the Organiser’s correspondence address, with the annotation “Complaint”.The Organizer recognizes complaints within 14 days from the date of their delivery to the Organizer.

30. Final word

  • The participants will be informed about any changes to the schedule of the competition or the courses before the start of the competition.
  • Violation of these Regulations may result in the imposition of a time penalty or disqualification of a participant. Each time such events will be considered individually by the Organizer.
  • During the run, the Participants should follow the instructions issued by people responsible for security, law enforcement and other persons designated by the Organizer.

32. COVID-19

  • If on the day of the competition there will be restrictions on the organization of sports events, participants will be required to comply with all restrictions, orders and bans related to social distancing, covering the mouth and nose, disinfection and other valid on the day of receiving the package and start of the race of a given participant.Any possible restrictions and information will be published by the Organizer closer to the date of the event.
  • If, due to the applicable restrictions, it is not possible to organize the event, the date of the event will be changed, and participants with paid entrance fees will be able to:

a) take part in the event on the new date;
b) submit a resignation within 14 days, entitling to a refund of 80% of the amount of the paid entry fee.
